Week 1- Still Life

This is a still life piece created using charcoal, it was an experimetal piece as i have little experience with the media i used.the piece shows great contast and effectivly utilises both dark shadows and strong highlights to really give the cloth life. The sweep of the fabric draws the eye towards the bottom on the piece, allowing the eyes to roam without being instantly focused on the centre, this is the rule of thirds and i applied it to allow the full piece to be viewed without any one area dominating the piece. This drawing took roughly 45 minutes
