3 final pieces

Final Piece 1 - Anatomy
The quality of this piece is really good, its proportions are nice and the inclusion of the branch really gives the bird weight, meaning it isn't just floating and can be took in some kind of context, the pose is natural and very lifelike
Final Piece 2- Landscape

This piece is a remake of a previous drawing, its lines are beautiful and neat and it almost looks quite styalised, yet it is true to the scene, the eye wanders over the piece takig everything in and is really quite pleasent to view, the simple shading creates enough contrast to make the piece interesting yet not over bearing, these slightly darker patches do not dominate the piece.

Final Piece 3- Still life

A simple yet quite effective composition, the two objects really compliment each other and are both very different subjects, the detail on the sempervivum label is a nice touch that draws the eye to it. the skull works well in this piece because it creates a good contrast againest the living plant. The shadows of the piece really ground it and show how the objects sit againest each other.

week 12- landscapes

This piece shows the river in todmordon, unfortunatly the weather ruined all my work from this excursion, however this piece works quite well, it has a pair of almost parallel implied lines on either side of the river and the eye jumps between these two as the image is viewed. the piece has a good tonal value and the colours really create great contrast throughout the whole image, it appears to almost be in three layers due to this and the eye views each seperatly before taking in the whole image.

week 11- landscape

The bold colours of this landscape work really welll and there is a quite nice contrast between the browns of the building and the green of the tree in the forground, the eye is pulled along the roof of each building before going over the rest of tyhe piece, meaning the eye goes around the image in a loop, this combies both a physical line and an implied line to make sure the whole image is viewed.

week 10- interiors

This piece is simple and elegant, much like the subject it was drawn from, the bradford media museum has some really great architecture is really fluid and smooth and is often intersected by straight lines which compliment the curves, this piece really shows this and has an impled line that makes the eye jump from the top 3rd to the bottem

Week 9- Interior

This image i thnk is quite interesting, it is simple yet its obvious what it is, when i did this piece i didn't have my glasses therefore the detail is lacking, this however makes the piece really stand out and its positioning makes it appear to border the page which really makes the eye take in the whole image.

Week 8- Non human anatomy

This piece i think, is quite striking. The eye follows the physical line along the underside of the cassowary's neck yet the eye is constantly drawn back to the crest at the top of the page, which is situated in the top 3rd of the piece, this utalises the rule of thirds and creates a good composition and an eye pleasing placement of the head. the areas of interest include the crest and the eye, both of which really make the viewer pause, whilst viewing the piece, and study these areas.

Week 7- Live drawing Human Anatomy

Another 10 minute live drawing, this piece shows great improvement from its predecessors the pose is natural and weighted and the eye allows the line of the body which is slightly foreshortened. the proportions are very realistic and the implied line that goes up the right hand side of the body makes it easy to view and be drawn into it. its positioning on the page is interesting, using the rule of thirds i placed it in the bottom left third the main focus points for this piece are the face and the curve of the back as both these points draw the eye in
